A son was convicted by a Polk County jury and his mother then pled guilty Friday, January 24, to the 2017 murders of two Polk County residents.
Larry Jeffries, 52, and Jeremy Walker, 27, were discovered dead March 3, 2017, in their Old Fort, Tennessee, home by Jeffries’ nephew.
According to Megan Collins with the Polk County Clerk of Court Office, Ahren Presley was charged and convicted by a jury of:
•Aggravated robbery conspiracy;
•Four counts of first degree murder;
•Two counts of aggravated robbery;
•Theft of property $10,000-$60,000; and,
•Theft up to $1,000.
Valerie Hart admitted to shooting the victims and avoided trial by pleading guilty to the same charges.
District Attorney General Stephen Crump said, “This case resulted from the outstanding work of TBI (Tennessee Bureau of Investigation) Special Agent Keith Herron and Polk County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Brian Fields and Det. Kevin Cole. Sheriff Steve Ross and his department did excellent work. Assistant District Attorneys Shari Taylor and Clayton Collins did an outstanding job in seeking justice in this case.”
Sentencing for Hart is scheduled for June 15, while Presley’s sentencing date has not yet been set.
