Fannin County Environmental Health has released the scores of recent restaurant health inspections.
Scores vary with the lowest being 90 and the highest being 100. The following examines 10 restaurants that were evaluated between January 2 and January 24.
Black Bear Bier Garten, at 500 East Main St. in Blue Ridge, earned a 100, which is an improvement from their last score in May in which they received a 78.
Blend Superfood Cafe, 3608 East First St., Blue Ridge, received a 99 for not being supplied with iodine concentration test strips for sanitizing solutions.
Circle J Restaurant, 4004 East First St. in Blue Ridge, scored a 99. Missing ceiling tiles were observed at the ware washing station and cracked or missing floor tiles were worn with water, grease and food debris visible in the cracks.
Dairy Queen, 380 Progress Circle, Blue Ridge, earned a perfect score.
Mystic Mountain Pizza, 4118 East First St., Blue Ridge, improved their July score from a 76 to a 90. The inspector noted that there was no hot water available at the hand washing sink, the most recent health inspection report was not displayed accurately, shielding was missing from some kitchen lights, and the rear door was not self-closing.
Masseria, located at 67 Roberts way in Blue Ridge, made a 94, for leaving bulk agricultural products (flour, sugar, etcetera) uncovered.
Roots Organic Juice Bar, 2800 Scenic Dr., Blue Ridge, received a 90. There was no proof of Food Manager Certification upon inspections as well as no paper towels available at the hand washing sink.
Smokey’s, at 47 Toccoa Ave. in McCaysville, earned a 100.
Subway, 2800 Scenic Dr., Blue Ridge, scored a 91 for not providing paper towels in the men’s restroom, having mayonnaise two days past the expiration date in the cooler, and no light in the walk-in freezer.
Toccoa Riverside Restaurant, 8055 Aska Rd., Blue Ridge, received a 96. The inspector noted having seen several stacked containers in the ware washing station stored wet, no chemical test strips for the dish machine in the ware washing station, and the dumpster door was left open when not being used.
