Around 70 people on the City of Copperhill’s Water and Sewer system were unintentionally charged a late fee on their December 31, 2019 bill.
City Clerk Amber Brooks said that every customer who paid their bill on December 10 was charged with the late fee. Anyone who payed the fee, and was not actually late, has been credited and the credit will be applied toward the next bill.
She said there was some sort of error within their software, but the specific cause is unknown.
“We apologize for any inconvenience,” she added.
