    One of several perks about adopting a dog from Fannin County Animal Control is that many are already trained in some way.

    All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the facility until being reclaimed or adopted.

    This past week, seven dogs were taken in, and none were adopted or reclaimed.

    Homeward Bound Pet Rescue took three dogs, Forsyth County Humane Society took one, and Atlanta Lab Rescue took one.

    Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours.

    The Animal Control facility is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    After those hours, officers follow up on community concerns and respond to stray calls.
