    Many dogs at Animal Control have been there for months, waiting for a hero to come and swoop them up. Why not be the hero to one of those dogs?

    In the past week, officers brought in four dogs with one reclaimed, one going to the Humane Society of Blue Ridge and one going to Katz and Dogs Rescue. 

    Community members are welcome to come look at the new improvements to the facility, make item or monetary donations and walk dogs or play with them in the new fenced in runs.

    Pet owners should make sure to properly tag and identify pets to prevent them being picked up unnecessarily. It is also advised to keep microchip information up to date. 

    Hours of operation at Animal Control are Monday - Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the facility. After hours the officers follow up with community concerns and respond to stray dog calls.
