Fannin County Water Authority members met Tuesday, June 30 to approve a $905,000 Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) loan modification.
The modification allows the authority to defer six payments from July to December 31, 2020.
The modification comes as a result of COVID-19, according to Chairwoman Anita Weaver.
“A lot of companies are doing this,” Weaver said. “It will not be tacked on to the end of the loan. These payments will just be deferred totally.”
“We cannot make payments if we choose to do this during that six month period,” she continued.
The authority granted General Manager Mike Scearce power to attest the documents with Weaver executing the change.
