The Tennessee Valley Authority’s preferred route for the new transmission line will not affect some areas mentioned in the May 20 edition of The News Observer.
The preferred route consists of segment numbers six, seven, nine and 11.
Last weeks issue included route numbers one, two, three, four, five and six, which were not chosen for the route.
The line will begin at the TVA Basin-Toccoa River 161-kilovolt transmission line and will extend west across Hogback Bend, Hogback Road, and Hogback Drive. The line will then turn southwest over Dry Creek and then head in a southerly direction until it crosses Fannin Industrial Park Street and Industrial Park Road.
After crossing this area, the line will then head west over Ada Street, southwest over Blue Ridge Drive, and cross over Harmony Lane twice before entering the station from the west side near 2700 Scenic Drive.
The transmission line should not affect Davis Road, Watkins Road, Black Gum Lane, Cardinal Drive, Gibbs Drive, River Estates Road, Douthit Road or Amanda Court.
A map of the project is available on TVA’s website www.tva.com/transmissionprojects. From the site, click on “Blue Ridge, Georgia (Scenic Drive)” to find the map and other information.
