A release from the humane society said, due to the cancellation of the event, they “project the need to shelter abandoned or surrendered animals will grow significantly during the crisis.”
Taste of Blue Ridge is the organization’s largest fundraiser, which funds the shelter, food and medical care for the animals. It also supports their adoption programs, trap, neuter and release program and the $20 spay and neuter program.
“If you purchased tickets, we humbly ask that you consider the purchase of your tickets to the event as a donation to the Humane Society of Blue Ridge,” the statement said.
Donations are tax-deductible. Canceled checks or credit card statements are considered receipts and, if cash was used, a receipt can be sent by emailing creativebydesign@etcmail.com.
“If you were not able to attend Taste of Blue Ridge this year but wanted to, this is a great opportunity to support HSBR and all its efforts in saving even more animals’ lives moving forward.
“Thank you for everything you (all supporters) have done and continue to do for HSBR. We truly appreciate your patience, your generosity and your continued support. Your dedication to HSBR and the cats and dogs we save is always appreciated, especially in this challenging time.”
