Fannin County Family Connection is counting on the community’s support to make “Holiday Sip, Skate and Stroll” a success as the organization works to raise funds.
Sherry Morris, executive director of Family Connection, said the event’s success is “extremely important” as the Food Pantry continues to set records at the same time some state funding has been cut.
The Food Pantry served 19,400 individuals in 2019 and is on track to serve almost 21,000 this year.
A large state grant has been cut.
Also the traditional “Tour of Homes,” which has been an important source of funds, had to be canceled this year, and will be replaced by a virtual tour in the future.
“Now, more than ever, Fannin County Family Connection needs your financial support,” Morris said.
“Holiday Sip, Skate and Stroll” will be held Saturday December 5, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at INOLA of Blue Ridge.
The event will include hot chocolate or cider and guests stroll the historic ground of INOLA’s colonial style village that showcases historic buildings found in Williamsburg, Virginia, tour the newly renovated Wetherburn’s Tavern and Chapel, and ice skate.
All these events are included in tickets that are $30 for adults, $50 for two adults, or $15 each for children 17 and younger.
