Special Olympics athletes shine

    Competitors came from all five Fannin County schools, Mountain Area Christian Academy and Gilmer County schools to show off their skills in the annual Fannin County Special Olympics Track and Field event last Friday at the Fannin County Recreation Department. A total of 128 athletes, including 40 from Fannin County High School, and 55 volunteers took part in the event.

    Fannin County School Superintendent Shannon Miller opened the ceremonies saying, “We are a big family...a great community celebrating the best athletes in the world.”
