Crosswalk installed at site of 2013 tragedy

McCaysville police officers are promising strict enforcement of the 25 miles-per-hour speed limit in the area of the new crosswalk on Toccoa Avenue/Highway 60 in front of Rolling Thunder River Company. This is the site, shown above, where a ten-year-old boy was killed as he attempted to cross the highway in 2013. With the river tubing season in full swing, the area is congested with traffic and pedestrians.
