The Sounds of Christmas, Polk County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas parade, is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, at 1 p.m. in Benton.
“It’s time to get ready to ‘Rock Around the Christmas Tree’ while the ‘Little Drummer Boy’ plays a tune in our ‘Winter Wonderland,’” Lynne McClary with the chamber said.
Entry fees are as follows:
•Float and towing vehicle, $20;
•Decorated car, $20;
•Motorcycle, $10; and,
•Horse, $10.
Fees must be paid by December 1; otherwise, an additional $5 fee will be added.
All horse and motorcycle riders will be required to wear a security wrist band as a result of new regulations and liabilities, McClary said.
Wrist bands will be distributed when completed entry forms are returned, and they must be visible at the line up before the parade; otherwise, participants will be asked to leave.
In the case of rain, the parade will be held the following Saturday, December 19.
