Isaiah Keyshawn Newman, 22, of 85 Brookstone Road #122, McCaysville, is being held without bond in the Fannin County Adult Detention Center after being arrested on a trio of felony charges last week.
Warrants sworn out by Fannin County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Erin Sehl charge Newman with armed robbery, exploitation of elders, and possession of firearm/knife during commission of a crime.
Newman went to the Madola Road home of his victim, an elderly female, on the afternoon of November 28. The two knew each other prior to the incident, Investigations Captain Justin Turner said.
During the course of the incident, the suspect allegedly stole a pocketbook containing cash and other personal items, and a bag of medication, then ran from the residence. Both a knife and handgun alleged to have been in Newman’s possession at the time have been recovered, Turner said.
Newman was taken into custody and booked into the detention center November 30.
