Two suspects remained in custody in the Fannin County jail Tuesday facing Felony Murder and other charges in connection with the June death of Levi Jasper Satterfield.
A third suspect is also held in connection with the incident that claimed Satterfield’s life.
Satterfield, 16, of Mineral Bluff, died June 15 in a Chattanooga, Tennessee, hospital after being run over by car the previous night in Fannin County.
Dakota Ted Brown, 18, of 2287 Mineral Bluff Highway, is charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony/Armed Robbery, and Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony/Distribution of Marijuana in warrants sworn out by Investigator Erin Sehl of the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office.
Brown was arrested July 15 shortly before 6 p.m. by McCaysville Police Officer Jordan Wright, according to his booking report.
Alexis Cruz-Alvarez, 17, of 255 LaVista Drive #18, Blue Ridge, is charged with Felony Murder and Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony/Distribution of Marijuana. Warrants against Cruz-Alvarez were also sworn out by Sehl. He was arrested Monday afternoon, July 17, by Fannin County sheriff’s deputy Andrew Cole.
Cody Lee Ramey, 27, of 255 LaVista Drive #19, Blue Ridge, is charged with Criminal Attempt/Purchase of Marijuana, a felony. He turned himself in at the Fannin County Jail Monday afternoon, July 17, to Investigations Captain Justin Turner. He was booked at 6:39 p.m.
All three suspects were being held without bond.
According to the warrants, Brown was the driver of a car June 14 that included co-conspirators. That car left an unspecified location to go to an agreed upon location to sell marijuana to Ramey. Cruz-Alvarez was a passenger in Brown’s car.
Satterfied was also in Brown’s car, according to investigators.
The occupants of the vehicle driven by Brown met Ramey and another person at the northwest corner of Curtis Switch Road and Mineral Bluff Highway.
Warrants allege Brown and a co-conspirator attempted to rob Ramey and the other person at gunpoint.
In the moments that followed, Satterfield was run over by a car and later died from his injuries.
The incident occurred between 8 p.m. and 9:22 p.m., according to the warrants.
Complete details have not yet been released as the investigation is continuing, Turner said.
