Another accused child molester has been put in jail following a Fannin County Sheriff’s Office investigation.
Edward Flandio Ritchie, 42, of 2811 Mineral Bluff Highway, Mineral Bluff, was arrested April 1 by Investigations Captain Justin Turner.
Ritchie was arrested and booked into the Fannin County Detention Center at 2:30 p.m. where he remained held without bond as of Friday, April 9.
He is charged with aggravated child molestation, possession of methamphetamine, marijuana possession less than an ounce, and possession of drug related objects, according to detention center records.
Turner said the investigation into Ritchie’s alleged child molestation began when Polk County authorities contacted the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office. Allegations against Ritchie had originally been reported to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Turner said the child molestation was said to have happened between March 24 and March 28. The victim, who was under the age of 16, and Ritchie were acquainted.
The drug related charges were added when sheriff’s office investigators served a search warrant on Ritchie’s residence, Turner said.
