What is being described as a completely random act by law enforcement officials has left two suspects held without bond in the Fannin County Detention Center.
Jason Lin Adams, 39, of 9 Wainwright Drive, Riverside, Ohio; and Jeffery Alexander Dick, 33, of 207 Maple Loop, Knoxville, Tennessee, both face multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
The two men showed up in the yard of a residence on Mineral Bluff Highway saying their car was stuck and asking for help, Investigations Captain Justin Turner of the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office said.
The occupants of the residence had no idea who the men were. “Nobody knew anybody,” Turner said.
However the male homeowner agreed to help.
He went back into the house and when he started back outside Dick grabbed him, punched him in the face and went inside the home, Turner said.
Inside, Dick and Adams demanded to know the identities of the homeowner and his wife and made threats against them.
Turner said the homeowner was able to retrieve a weapon and scare the intruders away.
The incident began after 8 p.m. Monday, March 29, and the intruders were captured later.
Adams is charged with the following felonies:
•Robbery,
•Burglary in the first degree;
•Terroristic threats and acts;
•Possession of methamphetamine;
•Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; and the following misdemeanors;
•Possession of drug related objects;
•Disorderly conduct; and,
•Affixing license plate with intent to conceal.
Dick is charged with the following felonies:
•Burglary in the first degree;

•Possession of methamphetamine;
•Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance;
•False statements; and the following misdemeanors:
•Possession of drug related objects;

The two suspects were taken into custody by McCaysville Police Officer Brian Collis.

Fannin County Chief Magistrate Judge Brian Jones denied bond for both suspects at their initial appearance hearing.
