Mental Health Awareness Month proclaimed

    Fannin County Commission Chairman Jamie Hensley proclaimed May as Mental Health Awareness Month Tuesday, May 11, when the Fannin County Board of Commissioners held their regular meeting.

    A large group of local leaders who deal with people having mental health challenges were on hand for the signing of the proclamation.

    The proclamation recognized the importance of mental health to everyone’s overall health and well-being, while also acknowledging all Americans “experience times of difficulty and stress in their lives.”

    The proclamation says “each business, government agency, healthcare provider, organization and citizen shares the burden of mental health problems and has a responsibility to promote mental wellness and support prevention efforts.”
