McCAYSVILLE CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY

Saturday, July 1, brought a full day of activities to McCaysville for the annual Independence Day celebration.

A fishing rodeo for children began the day and was followed by a free hotdog cookout, parade and car show. These events all led up to the annual fireworks display that traditionally attracts hundreds of people. This year was no different.

Many visitors to McCaysville were also offered their first look at the expanded Toccoa River Park and the relocated veterans memorial. The memorial had stood at the intersection of Blue Ridge Drive and Tennessee Avenue for decades.
