Ladies Night Out offers mammograms at hospital

Blue Ridge Medical Center and Blue Ridge Medical Group are joining forces to host a Ladies Night Out as attention is focused on October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The event will be held at the hospital Tuesday, October 17, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

During those hours, mammogram screenings are offered for $99. The event will also feature light refreshments and door prizes.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation reminds women that early detection is the key to surviving breast cancer. The foundation says 250,000 women will be diagnosed this year with breast cancer.

Mammograms are recommended every one to two years for women 40 years and older, and younger women with risk factors are urged to contact their health care provider about  when they should have a mammogram.

Call 706-632-4248 to register for Ladies Night Out.

Mammograms are also being offered at the hospital on Saturdays through October. Call the number above for more details.
