Fannin County High School (FCHS) senior John Moler continues to add to his long list of accomplishments with his acceptance into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Moler plans to pursue a degree in an engineering related field.
Bubba Gibbs, FCHS engineering teacher and Technology Student Association (TSA) advisor, described Moler as “an outstanding member of TSA this year.”
Among the accomplishments earning Moler the educator’s praise were four top ten finishes in state technology competitions. He will be representing Georgia in the National TSA Conference in June, competing in CAD Engineering.
Moler served as TSA president during the 2020-21 school year and completed the Engineering Pathway at FCHS.
“I am really proud of John’s accomplishments, and I am looking forward to the great things he will pursue in his future,” Gibbs said.
MIT is described on the school’s website as, “Founded to accelerate the nation’s industrial revolution, MIT is profoundly American. With ingenuity and drive, our graduates have invented fundamental technologies, launched new industries, and created millions of American jobs.”
Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, MIT admitted only 1,427 out of 21,312 applicants for the Class of 2023.
