Impact100 Fannin donates $160,000 to local causes

Impact100 Fannin recently donated a total of $160,000 to local non-profit organizations.

Fannin County Volunteer Fire and Rescue received $100,000; Feed Fannin received $30,000, and the University of North Georgia Research Foundation was awarded $30,000.

Impact100 Fannin, which is also a non-profit organization, is comprised of local women who come together and each donate $1,000.

At their annual meeting held each fall, the organization takes a membership vote to select where the donations will be awarded.

Every member who gives at least $1,000 gets one vote, and the winners are later revealed at “The Big Reveal” event.

This year’s event was held at The Arts Center in Blue Ridge October 8.

For organizations to be considered to receive funds, they must complete an application process with Impact100 Fannin’s grant committee.

At this year’s annual meeting, aside from voting on where their donations would be awarded, new leadership was announced, which included President Carolyn Kibler, Vice President Sherry Echelberger, Treasurer Lisa Brown, Treasurer Assistant Deborah Kelley and Secretary JoAnn Meyers, among others.

Since their founding in 2022, $424,000 has been awarded to other local organizations.
