A Fannin County couple is dead in what authorities believe is a murder-suicide that happened last Friday, February 5.
Investigations Captain Justin Turner of the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office said deputies had been asked to go to a residence on Henry Road just east of Blue Ridge for a welfare check. The female victim’s parents were worried because they had not heard from their daughter that morning.
When deputies arrived shortly after 11 a.m., the house was locked so they had to force entry into the residence.
Inside they found the couple, Mary Ann Brown, 63, and Robert Dale Brown, 64, deceased. Turner said it appears Brown killed his wife then took his own life.
The case remains an open investigation and the bodies have been sent to the State Crime Lab for autopsies. Authorities are not releasing any more details at this time.
