Highest level of accreditation earned by schools

The Fannin County School System and all five schools within the system have been Accredited with Quality by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC).

Chief Academic Officer Lucas Roof told the school board, “This is the highest level of accreditation.” Roof made the announcement of the awards at the board’s regular meeting Thursday, October 13.

“This accreditation means we go above and beyond” in several areas, Roof said. These areas include organization, personnel, program of studies, finances and facilities.

Roof cited everyone involved for achieving the GAC honor, saying it took the efforts of the school board, district leadership, school leadership, teachers and staff members who “positively impact the lives of students every day.”
