Hearing back on for 83-home plan

The Blue Ridge Planning Commission may finally hear the request to rezone a 14.15 acre tract of land off of Appalachian Highway.

The request was originally made by Johnnie Hastings of Integrity Development Group, LLC., last summer, but he pulled his application after receiving negative community feedback.

A revised plan was resubmitted, which was supposed to be heard September 1. That meeting was rescheduled due to a lack of quorum.

A hearing is back on, scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, at 6 p.m. at Blue Ridge City Hall. 

Hastings has requested to rezone the property from General Commercial to High Density Residential. 

According to the application, he plans to build 83 single-family attached townhomes.
