A OneGeorgia Grant extension is giving McCaysville another chance to finish the Toccoa River Park expansion.
City Clerk Nancy Godfrey told McCaysville council members Tuesday night, February 9, the grant extension has been approved until June 30. The news came at the council’s regular monthly meeting.
But the city is back to looking for someone to do the work as it tries to spend the $432,600 of free money.
Advertisements seeking proposals to build four new pavilions at the park appear in this week’s newspaper. Those proposals must be received by Friday, March 26, at 2 p.m., when they will be opened.
This is the second time bids have been sought for the pavilions. No one offered a proposal the first time around, when bids were opened January 15.
Godfrey explained this week that bid extensions are normally for six months, with progress reports due at those intervals.
