The remains found in Hemptown Creek behind the Bee Hive Grocery in Mineral Bluff July 23 have been identified as those of Jessica Danielle Blake.
Investigations Sergeant J.K. Davenport of the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office said last Friday the Georgia Bureau of Investigation had released results of DNA testing used to determine the identity.
After receiving the GBI results, Blake’s next of kin were notified.
Blake, 34, of Fannin County, had been reported missing since April 12, 2023.
Friends had distributed posters and searched the community as part of the effort to find her.
Davenport said the investigation is ongoing.
