The funeral service for David Ralston is planned for Sunday, November 27, beginning at 1 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center on the Fannin County High School campus.
Ralston, 73rd Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives, passed away Wednesday, November 16, at the age of 68, with his wife, Sheree, his children and other members of his family with him.
At the time of his passing, Speaker Ralston was the longest serving state House speaker in the country.
As the state representative from the 7th District, he represented Fannin, Gilmer and a portion of Dawson County.
Prior to the Funeral Service, Speaker Ralston will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda from 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, through 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 23.
Visitation will take place at Logan Funeral Home in Ellijay Friday, November 25, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at Akins-Cobb Funeral Home in Blue Ridge Saturday, November 26, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.
