    Incoming freshmen were welcomed to Fannin County High School (FCHS) Tuesday, August 1, with encouragement to “get involved.”

    FCHS Principal Scott Ramsey told the group of students and family gathered in the Performing Arts Center that involvement in extracurricular activities would make their high school years much more enjoyable.

    “All of you have a talent, something you’re good at,” Ramsey said. He encouraged the students to work on finding that talent.

    He told of the wide range of academics available as well as the many Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs offered. Ramsey told of the many sports and clubs students can join.

    Ramsey assured the new students they would have the support they need. Speaking highly of the teachers at FCHS, he said their job is “solely to see that you’re successful.”
