James Henry Willingham, 37, remained in the Fannin County Adult Detention Center Monday facing two drug trafficking and several traffic charges following his arrest Friday afternoon, June 11.
Willingham was headed north on Georgia Highway 2 (Highway 515) in a red Ford F-150 pickup truck and fled when a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to stop the truck for a traffic violation.
Just south of Glen Hope Church Road, Trooper James Martin executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, which safely ended the chase. The pickup was left pinned against a guardrail on the southbound side of the highway.
A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded approximately 167 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 94 grams of suspected heroin, according to warrants taken against Willingham.
Those warrants charge Willingham with felony counts of trafficking in methamphetamine or amphetamine and trafficking in morphine, opium or heroin.
Warrants also charge Willingham with another felony, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer; and misdemeanor counts of driving while license suspended/revoked, no insurance, DUI/drugs, failure to maintain lane, and glazing of windows.
Willingham is being held without for violation of probation on an original burglary sentence.
Addresses for Willingham were listed as both 71 Sunshine Valley Road, Blue Ridge, and 300 Patrol Road, Forsyth, Georgia, on arrest records.
