Flags honor veterans at Crestlawn

    “We honor their service, we remember their loss,” Bill Stodghill told veterans and Boy Scouts gathered Friday, May 26, at Crestlawn Cemetery on Mobile Road.

    The groups came together to place flags on the graves of veterans in preparation for Memorial Day.

    The event has been an annual tradition of Epworth Troop 32 of the Boy Scouts.

    This year, the North Georgia Honor Guard, took part with the Posting of the Colors prior to flags being placed.

    Stodghill told those gathered, “Our destiny as a free people is entirely up to us...may these sacrifices continue to inspire and guide us,” speaking of the veterans who laid down their lives for freedom.
