The Lake Blue Ridge Civic Association will once again host the annual Fire in the Sky fireworks show Monday, July 4, starting at 9:30 p.m.
Sponsors are promising a “dazzling light show” lasting for 25 minutes.
The show was recently named among the top three in Georgia by AAA Living magazine.
The event costs over $35,000 and LBRCA officials thanks the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce, City of Blue Ridge Bluewater Energy, Coldwell Banker High Country Realty, Anchor Brokerage, Town and Country Furnitre, ETC, Chris Hefferen Photography, United Community Bank and Lake Blue Ridge Marina for their donations to make the show possible.
Sponsors say the best viewing location is on the lake, but several other locations exist. Among these are Old Highway 76 across Blue Ridge Dam, which will be closed to traffic.
Overflow parking for those wanting to watch from that location will be available at the new school bus facility, spokesman Mike Darnell said.
The Humane Society of Blue Ridge reminds pet owners that pets do not enjoy the noise, which causes them much stress during and following the show. They encourage a safe, noise-free environment for pets.
