Fannin County became one of the first places in the state to receive a copy of Vernon Jones’ Contract With Georgia when the Republican candidate for governor spoke at Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend Park Saturday afternoon, June 19.
Jones’ staff passed out copies of Jones seven-point pledge, which includes promises of:
•Election Integrity: A full, statewide forensic audit of the 2020 Presidential election and the formation of a committee to immediately explore replacing the Dominion voting machines;
•Georgia First Economy: Seeking a dramatic reduction, if not complete elimination, of the Georgia state income tax;
•Second Amendment: An executive order making Georgia a Second Amendment sanctuary state and to work with the General Assembly to pass legislation making Georgia a Constitutional Carry state;
•Protect Our Children: To work aggressively to pass comprehensive legislation that would, in part, ban political and social indoctrination from schools, and ban health care professionals from performing transgender medical procedures on minors;
•Pledge of Allegiance: A requirement that all public schools in Georgia would be required to recite the Pledge of Allegiance daily;
•Hate Crime 2.0: To continue efforts to make it a hate crime to commit an act of violence against an individual due to his/her political ideology and/or affiliation; and,
•Peaceful Protest Act: Peaceful protests would be protected, while penalties for those who commit violence or incite riots would be enhanced. Local governments may be held civilly liable for choosing not to maintain law and order or provide adequate protection of private property. Jones would instruct the Georgia State Patrol to shut down any illegal demonstration that obstructs an interstate highway.
“These legislative priorities – and all others – will be guided by one principle: Georgia First,” Jones said.
