Members of the Fannin County Fire Department’s (FCFD) current recruit class took part in live burn training Saturday, August 20.
FCFD Training Chief James “Michael” Cornelius said the training, “was done to meet the standards set forth by the State of Georgia to allow these recruits to be able to complete their Firefighter 1 training.”
The training was held at the Union County Fire Department’s fire training facility. The facility and training works to introduce recruits to “real life” scenarios.
Cornelius expressed the Fannin department’s thanks for the use of the facility. “UCFD went above and beyond” by allowing us to use their live burn training facility, Cornelius said.
The training began at 7:30 a.m. and continued through midday.
