Faith Presbyterian Church is currently on the look out for donations and/or grants to help them continue distributing food to Fannin County senior citizens.
The church previously had two grants, one for $15,000 and one for $10,000, which have supported them in the past with food distributions.
The $15,000 grant came from the Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. Only 20 churches in the country were chosen for this grant, including Faith Presbyterian. The second grant was only awarded to two recipients including Faith Presbyterian because, “They loved our fulfillment of the grant,” according to Church Member Lynda Ray.
Ray said that they are running out of funds, but have been offered $5,000 if the church can match the donation. She added, “We are trying diligently to match it...we have applied for a grant from Tri-State, but we have not heard from them.”
The church is currently serving 135 senior in the Fannin County area, but there are only enough funds for a couple more food distributions.
