Fannin County’s Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) office is currently operating remotely, but is still available to help when needed.
This is in response to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s call to limit in-person contact across the state.
All Department of Human Services offices are encouraging customers to use self-service options and telephone communication. Individuals requiring in-person consultation must make an appointment.
“DFCS workers continue fulfilling their essential functions to help an increasing number of families in need despite the health risks involved,” a press release read.
DFCS has continued to respond to child abuse and neglect referrals and facilitate placements when needed. Given that folks aren’t in the office, anyone in need of assistance is encouraged to utilize the tools and information below:
•Apply for Food Stamp and Medicaid Benefits by visiting gateway.ga.gov;
•Download an application at dfcs.georgia.gov/services;
•Information on Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is available by visiting www.connectebt.com/gaebtclient/ or call 888-421-3281;
•General information is available at dfcs.ga.gov or 877-423-4746;
•For those without access to online resources, request can be made over the phone and applications can be mailed; and,
•Report suspected child abuse or neglect any time at 1-855-422-4453.
The Division of Child Support Services customers are encouraged to download the mobile app “DCSS on the go” by searching for “Georgia child support” in a devices app marketplace, access the Customer Online Portal at childsupport.ga.gov or call 1-844-694-2347.
Division of Aging Services customers are encouraged to call 866-552-4464 or visit aging.ga.gov for information or updates.
