A graduation rate of 100% and a similar post program placement rate for Fannin County High School (FCHS) students completing the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) program were among the reports heard by the county Board of Education last week.
Lucas Roof, who is currently the school system’s director of Applied & Integrated Instruction, STEM/STEAM & CTAE, told board members of these 100% accomplishments, reflecting the four-year graduation rate.
Roof’s comments were among the reports and updates presented at the school board’s regular meeting last Thursday, May 13, at the FCHS Performing Arts Center.
Roof also discussed other program successes, especially with the new welding program that saw one graduate earn a $10,000 scholarship to a technical school.
He said that future expansion includes the possibility of an automotive program.
School board members also learned that meal prices will remain the same at all schools next year.
The previously approved 2021-22 school calendar was amended to move the first day of school for students to Friday, July 30, from Monday, August 2.
