COVID-19 cases in Fannin County continued their declining trend over the last two weeks while deaths increased from the virus.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH), 124 new cases were reported for the two-week period ending Friday, October 1. This brought to 3,069 the total number of Fannin County residents infected with the virus so far.
For the two weeks ending September 24, the DPH reported 157 new cases, bringing the total to 3,021.
For the same period, the number of deaths rose from 83 to 85.
Over the two weeks ending October 1, positive test results for the virus were reported as 15.7% in Fannin.
