Businesses join church for Halloween event

A drive-thru Halloween will take the place of the annual Safe Zone in Blue Ridge this year.

The Blue Ridge Business Association (BRBA) has joined forces with Blue Ridge United Methodist Church to create a Safe Zone Drive-By at the church off Orvin Lance Drive in Blue Ridge.

The Safe Zone Drive-By will welcome trick-or-treaters the evening of Halloween, Saturday, October 31 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The public must remain in their vehicles at all times.

Volunteers will be wearing gloves and masks and will provide “commercially wrapped candy,” according to the BRBA website.

Organizations and individuals will have up to 40 different candy distribution stations in the churches parking lot.

Anyone wishing to set up a candy station should contact the church at 706-632-2327 or brum172@gmail.com.
