Boys and Girls Club to host fourth annual Duck Drop

The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Georgia will host their 4th Annual Duck Event Saturday, November 21.

“This year’s event will look different than in past years, but it will serve the same purpose,” Area Outreach Manager Ashley Rhodes said.

Rather than a duck race, the ducks will drop instead, but specific details are being withheld as a “surprise” to supporters, Rhodes said.

The event involves individuals, businesses and organizations across North Georgia to take part in a duck race, and this year, it will be streamed live on knowpickens.com and on their Facebook page.

Participants purchase a duck at $5 a piece for a chance of winning $2,500 or one of many other cash and non-cash prizes.

A number will be attached to each duck relating to the number on an entry ticket.

A single duck purchase will provide a child a week’s worth of snacks.

Four ducks provide one week of transportation per child.

10 ducks provide six hours of tutoring, and 20 provides six weeks of STEAM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs.
