Cause of death months away
The body found in front of Wilscot Baptist Church has been identified.
Fannin County Coroner Becky Callihan said, last Thursday, that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation had identified the remains as those of Jason Bruce Crane, 51. He was listed as homeless.
Callihan said a cause of death has not yet been determined, and she does not expect one for about four months when all the necessary tests are completed.
The body was discovered Tuesday morning, September 2, when a man was bush hogging in front of the church. Authorities were called to the scene around 11 a.m.
At the time, Callihan estimated the victim had been dead about two weeks.
The church is located on Highway 60 just over five miles south of Morganton.
