Copper Basin High School (CBHS) Graduate Cade Bigham was the 2022 recipient of the Polk County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship.
When making recipient selections, consideration and preference was given to students who had plans to return to and reinvest their education in the Polk County community.
Having plans to go into the field of business, outdoor recreation or hospitality and tourism was a quality that the chamber scholarship committee was in search for. The Chamber Scholarship is designed to promote progress and growth in Polk County for the future.
The Ocoee Dam Deli & Diner offered a sponsorship in order to support the chamber in being able to award this scholarship that was awarded to one graduating senior from CBHS and one graduate from Polk County High School.
Director of the Polk County Chamber of Commerce Lynne McClary stated, “Cade impressed the entire committee as a well-rounded student with clear goals and an obvious drive to see those goals through to fruition. As a senior in high school, he was involved in multiple sports and extracurricular activities as well as already owning a couple of small businesses. Without reservation, both scholarship recipients are well-deserving and will undoubtedly represent Polk County well in their future endeavors.”
