Basin alumni group formed, Hamby first to be honored

    “The Copper Basin Alumni Association was founded for the purpose of supporting the student-athletes and coaches across all sports at Copper Basin High School,” Executive Board President Dylan Boggs said.

    “Our primary goals consist of re-establishing long standing traditions, bringing alumni back to the school in various settings, and fundraising to ensure the student athletes and coaches have what they need to compete at a high level,” Boggs said

    The association’s initiatives began last Friday night when former Cougar great Mike Hamby was honored as the IGA Hometown Legend of the Game.

    The association plans to honor a Legend of the Game for each home game this season. On alumni night, October 20, legendary head football coach Mark Stone returns home as the IGA Hometown Legend of the Game.

    The association’s executive board consists of Dylan Boggs, president; Matt Ray, Eric Sisson, John Spargo, vice president; Jared Bigham, secretary; Brett Curtis, treasurer; Brianna Farmer, Raymond Akens, Jared Orton, Hannah Langkawel, and Andy Whitener.

    “We have received an immense amount of positive feedback and support from the surrounding communities. We would like to thank all of our game sponsors and individual sponsors for their support.
