The annual Love Light ceremony at Fannin Regional was again a celebration of the work done by the hospital auxiliary, but was also a sad reminder of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
“I would be remiss if I didn’t say how much we miss you guys,” Jason Jones, Fannin Regional’s chief executive officer, told the group of auxiliary members and others gathered for the annual tree lighting ceremony.
“Having the support of the Pink Ladies is close to my heart.
“Without you, its been a gap. We look forward to your return,” Jones said.
The hospital CEO made his comments during the annual Love Light Tree lighting ceremony Tuesday, December 8, at the hospital.
Auxiliary President Shirley Copeland echoed that sentiment, telling everyone, “we miss you guys.”
Auxiliary members have not been able to handle their regular duties at the hospital in nine months. While everyone is anxious for their return, the primary focus is to keep everyone safe.
Daniel Postell, delivering the message for the ceremony, reminded everyone to “let not your hearts be troubled.” Though speaking of the return of Jesus Christ, his words served to give everyone hope that the auxiliary’s work would return to normal.
The lighting of the tree marked the celebration of the auxiliary’s annual effort to raise funds for scholarships for deserving local students entering the medical profession.
Love Light purchases allow individuals to honor or remember a loved one.
Though the tree lighting has taken place, donations can still be made by using the accompanying form.
