Art Center to remain closed through June 2

The Art Center will remain closed to the public through Tuesday, June 2.

Initially, the center was expected to re-open Tuesday, May 5. A press release from Nichole Potzauf, Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association executive director, dated Thursday, May 7, explained that “with the continued health and safety of our entire community at the forefront of all our organizational decisions” they have decided to remain closed to the public.

Upon re-opening, state issued regulations and guidelines by Governor Brian Kemp will be followed along with some new business practices:

•Anyone feeling ill should remain home and anyone exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms will not be granted access;

•All individuals entering the Art Center will be required to wear a CDC recommended mask or covering;

•Restrooms will not be open to the public;

•Hand sanitizing stations will be available in the main lobby;

•Social distancing of 6 feet or more will be enforced;

•Groups of more than 6 will not be allowed with a maximum of 10 guests at a time;

•Touching artwork should be avoided;

•Regular cleanings and sanitizing will be performed during hours of operation; and

•All point of sale equipment will be sanitized regularly and between transactions.

All of the above guidelines will be clearly posted on all entrances and common areas of the Art Center.
