Everyone is invited to celebrate the Christmas season and first responders during the Kiwanis Club of Copperhill’s 99th Annual Christmas Parade.
This year’s theme is “American Heroes Christmas,” for the parade that will take place Saturday, December 5, beginning at 2 p.m.
The starting location for the parade has changed from the original announcement.
Participants will gather in the parking lot adjacent to East Tennessee Avenue and the Toccoa River Park, then line up along East Tennessee Avenue for the parade.
Coming out East Tennessee Avenue, the parade will turn left onto Blue Ridge Drive, through McCaysville and toward Copperhill.
At the three-way stop, the parade will turn left and travel through Copperhill on Ocoee Street.
The procession will end at the entrance to Copperhill Industries. Parade entrants are reminded not to re-enter the route until Santa has reached the end of the route.
Floats will be judged starting at 1 p.m. in three categories: best presentation of theme, most original, and best overall. Winners will be announced and awarded trophies prior to the parade.
In addition, a new element has been added this year as the Kiwanis Club will be raffling off a Packer Bell Lap Tablet for $10 per ticket.
The winner will be announced after floats are judged.
