Fannin County Animal Control (FCAC) is not immune to the impacts of COVID-19.
Border closures have put a halt in dogs transports FCAC Manager John Drullinger said. As a result, the facility is staying full.
“They closed the boarders to Canada. We had transports going to Canada, and now they can’t go, so things are starting to back up for sure,” he said.
He said help from rescue organizations are slowing down, which is a “potential problem.”
Folks are urged to check the shelter for lost pets and adopt new ones. Call the shelter at 706-632-3845 to see about adopting or finding a pet. FCAC is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
