    Fannin County Animal Control had taken 13 dogs into their care as of Friday morning, August 5.

    This past week, two of the dogs were owner reclaimed, and two were sent to Homeward Bound.

    Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours.

    The Animal Control facility is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

    After those hours, officers follow up on community concerns and respond to stray calls.

    To reclaim dogs, owners must show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination or pay to have them vaccinated.

    Anyone who would like to make donations for improvements to the facility or for the care of the dogs may do so by visiting that website as well.

    Animal Control is located at 1001 Fannin Industrial Park in Blue Ridge.
