Caramel can be a little shy when he meets new people, but he warms up to them quickly when he realizes what purrfect friends they can be. He gets along great with other cats, too.     Fannin County Animal Control had 12 dogs in their care as of Monday morning, July 25.

    This past week, 11 dogs were taken in, while one was adopted.

    Four dogs were owner reclaimed, two went to Mountain Shelter and one dog went to Paw Angels Inc.

    Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours.

    The animal control facility is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

    After those hours, officers follow up on community concerns and respond to stray calls.

    To reclaim dogs, owners must show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination or pay to have them vaccinated. More information on any of the dogs at the facility is available by giving them a call at 706-632-3845 or by visiting www.fannincountyga.com/animal-control/.

    Anyone who would like to make donations for improvements to the facility or for the care of the dogs may do so b visiting that website as well.

    Animal Control is located at 1001 Fannin Industrial Park in Blue Ridge.
