  • The Humane Society of Blue Ridge Cat of the Week is Disco. He is six months old and is quite social with people and other cats. Disco is used to being around small dogs as well. Once he is finished playing, he will look for a lap to relax on. You will love rubbing your fingers along his fluffy, soft coat. Disco is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.     It is a new year so consider visiting Fannin County Animal Control to adopt a new family friend for 2022.

    This past week, one dog was adopted, one dog was reclaimed by its owner and 18 dogs were taken in and are under animal control’s care.

    Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours.

    The animal control facility is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    After those hours, officers follow up on community concerns and respond to stray calls.
