    When life gets ruff, a furry friend is a great listener, and there are plenty at Fannin County Animal Control.

    All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the facility until being reclaimed or adopted.

    This past week, zero dogs were taken in, while five were adopted and none reclaimed.

    The Humane Society of Blue Ridge took two dogs, and the Greenville Humane Society took two as well.

    Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours.

    The Animal Control facility is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    After those hours, officers follow up on community concerns and respond to stray calls.
